TWO DAY WINTER RAIL TOUR
Day 1
Vancouver to Kamloops
Relax in the lap of luxury as you depart Vancouver's Pacific Central
Station onboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Pass through the fertile
fields of the Fraser River Valley and the towering peaks of the
Coastal Mountains before entering the Fraser Canyon and viewing
the raging turbulence of Hell's Gate. Follow the Thompson River
through beautiful landscapes to historic Kamloops, gateway to the
interior of British Columbia. Your overnight stay includes an evening
at Two River Junction Dinner and Musical Revue. Breakfast and lunch

Day 2
Kamloops to Banff or Calgary (Kicking Horse Route)
Depart Kamloops through the vast ranchlands along the South Thompson
River to Shuswap Lake with its "thousand miles" of shoreline.
Pass Craigellachie, where the "last spike" was driven
completing the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885. Enter Rogers Pass,
with its tunnels, snow-sheds and glistening glaciers. The Kicking
Horse River leads you to Kicking Horse Pass, the Spiral Tunnels
and over the Continental Divide to Banff National Park. You may
end your tour in Banff, or continue on to the Stampede City of Calgary.

the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885. Beyond Craigellachie is Rogers
Pass with tunnels, glistening glaciers, and snow capped mountains.
Before crossing over the Continental Divide into Banff National
Park, you will travel through the unique Spiral Tunnels in Yoho
National Park, a remarkable engineering achievement. As we travel

Day 4
Banff to Jasper
Today you will travel from Banff to Jasper along the scenic Icefields
Parkway. Overnight in Jasper.
Day 5
Exploring Jasper National Park

activities include ice walking in Maligne Canyon, downhill skiing
at Marmot Basin, snowshoeing or sleigh riding at Jasper Park Lodge.

Jasper to Lake Louise
This morning you will be transferred to Lake Louise for the start
of your three-night stay at the Chateau Lake Louise.

Day1
Vancouver Arrival
Arrive in Vancouver for your overnight stay.
Day 2
Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops
in British Columbia's interior. En route you will pass through the
fertile Fraser Valley and the Fraser Canyon. One of the Canyon's
true highlights is Hell's Gate where you will watch water torrent
past the Canyon's walls at its narrowest point. This is one of the
canyon's true natural treasures. Upon leaving the Fraser Canyon,
the train will follow the Thompson River to the city of Kamloops.
Dinner and holiday entertainment (Two River Junction Dinner and
Musical Revue) are included this evening. Overnight in Kamloops.
Day 3
Kamloops to Banff
Continue your journey eastward onboard the Rocky Mountaineer to
the Canadian Rockies and the mountain resort of Banff. First, you
will travel through vast ranchlands to Shuswap Lake before passing
Craigellachie, where the "last spike" was driven completing
the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885. Beyond Craigellachie is Rogers
Pass with tunnels, glistening glaciers, and snow capped mountains.
Before crossing over the Continental Divide into Banff National
Park, you will travel through the unique Spiral Tunnels in Yoho
National Park, a remarkable engineering achievement. As we travel
through the five mountain regions...the magic of the Canadian winter
abounds! Overnight in Banff.
Day 4
Banff and Lake Louise
you will visit the Bow River Valley, Surprise Corner and the Cave
and Basin Centre where Banff's history originated. Next your tour
takes you to Lake Louise. En route you will discover Vermilion Lakes,
Mt. Rundle, the Hole-in-the-Wall and Johnston Canyon. Free time
is available at Lake Louise to explore the lake and have lunch (not
included) before visiting the Spiral Tunnels viewpoint in Yoho National
Park and returning to Banff. Overnight in Banff.
Day 5
Banff to Jasper
Today you will travel from Banff to Jasper along the scenic Icefields
Parkway. Overnight in Jasper.
Day 6
Jasper to Vancouver
Depart on VIA Rail this afternoon and travel overnight through the
Canadian Rockies and along the Thompson and Fraser Rivers to Vancouver.
Overnight onboard VIA Rail, bedroom accommodation. Dinner served
onboard.
Day 7
Exploring Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver on VIA Rail and spend the rest of the day exploring
this scenic city. Breakfast included. Overnight in Vancouver.
Day 8
Vancouver
Your tour ends with check out from your hotel.
