Golden/Crowsnest Excursion

THE GOLDEN/CROWSNEST EXCURSION

Day 1 (Thursday)
Calgary
You will be chauffeured from the Calgary International Airport to the landmark Fairmont Palliser Hotel, where you will check into a"Fairmont Gold" level room. You are invited to join the Royal Canadian Pacific Management Team for a private cheese and wine reception, followed by dinner in the Rimrock Dining Room. Overnight Calgary.


Day 2
Calgary to Crowsnest Pass
After breakfast, the train departs from the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion in the heart of downtown Calgary. You'll travel through the splendor of the Canadian Prairies on route to cross the High Level Bridge in Lethbridge.
You will then travel by luxury motor coach to Head-Smashed-In Buffal Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You rejoin the train in Macleod and travel west towards the Canadian Rocky Mountains Passing through Frank Slide you are joined by an interpretive guide to share stories of the past. Your first overnight stop will be in the
Crowsnest Pass.

Day 3
Lake Windermere
The train continues west crossing the Continental Divide en route to Fort Steele where a luxury motor coach takes you to the city of Cranbrook and its historic railway museum. After your tour, you'll return to the heritage town of Fort Steele where the west's early days come alive, then continue north along the banks of the Columbia River to an overnight stop at Invermere. That evening you will enjoy a special on-board dinner accompanied by a classical guitar and violin duet. Overnight on board, adjacent LakeWindermere.

Day 4
Gap Siding
Leaving the Columbia River Valley behind, you'll travel through Golden and Field before traveling through the famous Spiral Tunnels on your way to Lake Louise. Following an off train interpretive hike to visit Lake Louise, you will continue east
through the heart of the Canadian Rockies to Banff. In Banff, you'll enjoy the opportunity to ride up Banff Avenue or you can visit the world famous, Fairmont Banff Springs-"Canada's Castle in the Rockies". You'll return to the train for a short journey to Gap Siding for our overnight stop and dinner on board.

Day 5
Calgary
A leisurely trip back to Calgary ends your rail journey, arriving at the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion by mid-morning. You'll have lunch at The Fairmont Palliser Hotel. Suggested Calgary downtown tours are available in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon you'll check into The Fairmont Palliser once more and enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel. Overnight Calgary in a "Fairmont Gold" level room.

Day 6
Calgary
After breakfast and check-out, a chauffeur will return you to the Calgary International Airport.

Day 1
Calgary
A chauffeur will take you from the Calgary International Airport to the landmark Fairmont Palliser where you will check into a "Fairmont Gold" level room. Enjoy an early dinner in the Rimrock Dining Room, followed by an exhilarating performance by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Overnight Calgary

DAY 2
Sicamous
After breakfast, the train departs Calgary at 9:00am. The train ventures west toward the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains en route to Kamloops. You are able to view the famous Spiral Tunnels from the inside, and the untouched wilderness of Yoho National Park.Your evening will feature our culinary team talents during our "taste of the Royal Canadian Pacific". You will experience a wine and food extravaganza as the train travels towards the overnight stop in Sicamous, BC.

DAY 3
Kamloops
Following a hearty breakfast, this delightful culinary adventure continues in the heart of
Canada's Okanagan Wine Region. You board a deluxe motorcoach for a trip through rich, green countryside of rolling hills and beautiful lakes, arriving at world famous Mission Hill Winery, named the Winery of the Year at the first ever Canadian Wine Awards. Mission Hill is famous for its chardonnay, a gold medallist. You will be taken on a VIP tour of tasting followed by lunch. Your motorcoach will transport you back to your luxury, rolling culinary school for you overnight stop at Kamloops.

DAY 4
Golden
Awake to a fabulous breakfast and prepare for a mid-morning interactive cooking demonstration, followed by lunch. As the train travels east to Golden you will enjoy an afternoon cooking demonstration as the train journeys through stunning Roger's Pass in Glacier National Park. Cocktails and hors d'eouvres will be served as you are entertained by a classical guitar and violin duet. Our culinary team will once again showcase their talents for a special gala dinner. Overnight stop in Golden.

DAY 5
Calgary
A leisurely breakfast, and interactive cooking demonstrations fill the morning as the train journeys through the famous spiral tunnels. Crossing back into Alberta, we travel through Banff National Park before arriving home in the late afternoon. Upon arrival at the Royal Canadian Pacific Pavilion you are invited to attend a wine and cheese reception. You'll check into The Fairmont Palliser once more and enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel. Overnight Calgary.

DAY 6
Calgary
After breakfast and checkout, a chauffeur will return you to the Calgary International Airport.

Day 1
Calgary

Day 2
Fort Mcleod
Board the Royal Canadian Pacific from the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavillion, adjacent the Palliser Hotel. Depart Calgary, traveling south to Okotoks where you will float the Lower Bow River, home to an incredible population of huge Browns and Rainbows that are famous for their affinity for a fly. Reboard the train for the first of four unforgettable scenic fine dining events as the train travels to our over-night stable at Ft.McLeod, Ab.

Day 3
Crowsnest Pass
Depart Ft.Mcleod and disembark the train on the banks of the dry fly friendly wading paradise at Fernie, BC, for the Crowsnest River, which sits just north of the Alberta-Montana border. Here your guides will introduce you to the wild Rainbows, Cutthroats and Bull trout that thrive in a spectacular Rocky Mountain foothills setting. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay at the President's Spur on the Crowsnest Lake, BC at the height of Crowsnest Pass.

Day 4
Invermere
This morning begins with a short trip to the Elk River where our guests disembark at Morrisey to board drift boats for a guided float on the Elk River. At the end of our fishing day, our guides return us to Morrisey, where our familiar rolling "fishing lodge" awaits us. On board, guests enjoy the Royal Canadian Pacific's signature service as the train heads north through the Columbia River Valley, to its overnight stop at Invermere, B.C. on the shores of Lake Windermere.

Day 5
Bow Valley
On the last leg of the tour the Royal Canadian Pacific travels north through the picturesque Columbia Valley and then climbs east through the spectacular Spiral Tunnels. After crossing the continental divide and entering the world famous Banff National Park the Royal Canadian Pacific follows the headwaters of the upper Bow River, known locally as "the other Bow". Here your fly-fishing skills will be challenged by an evening with big, wily wild browns lurking in the labyrinth of logjams and side channels that are the trademark of this section. This is one of the best pieces of drift boat water in North America and makes for a fitting finish to your fly-fishing tour. Dinner and overnight in the mountainous Bow Valley.

Day 6
Calgary
After a leisurely breakfast the train arrives at the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion at approximately 10:30AM. A chauffeur will return you to the Calgary International Airport.

Day 1
Calgary

Day 2
After breakfast, the train departs Calgary at 7:00am. The train ventures west into the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains to Banff. The first day features the Stanley Thompson designed, world famous Fairmont Banff Springs Course. After lunch and a round of golf, you rejoin the train for a picturesque trip through the Rocky Mountains. You are able to view the famous Spiral Tunnels from the inside, and the untouched wilderness of Yoho National Park. Dinner will be served on the train at its overnight stop in Golden.

Day 3
Lake Windermere
Majestic mountains dominate the train as you depart Golden and journey south through the Columbia River Valley en route to the next golf destination- Greywolf Golf Course. Designed by Doug Carrick and recognized as the "Best New Canadian Golf Course Award" in 1999 you will enjoy an afternoon of world-class golfing. After golf you'll return to the train, stabled at Paradise siding for a superb dinner and relaxing evening on the shores of Lake Windermere.

Day 4
Crownest
Enjoy breakfast amid the majestic Purcell Mountains while you journey to your next golf destination to play St. Eugene Mission Golf Resort, locate on the site of a historic mission near Cranbrook. Renowned course architect Les Furber designed this championship link-style course. Following your round, you return to the train to enjoy a memorable dinner on board as the train travels to the overnight siding in the Crownest pass.

Day 5
Calgary
The train will depart early in the morning heading east to Lethbridge. You will experience your final day of golf at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort. Located along the Old Man River the course is an oasis of green between the rugged canyon cliffs. After golf, you return to the train for dinner. As the train rolls back towards Calgary you can reminisce about the golf adventures as the Royal Canadian Pacific travels through Alberta's rolling ranch country back to Calgary. The train arrives at the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion at approximately 10:30 p.m. Once more, you'll check into The Fairmont Palliser. Overnight Calgary.

Day 6
Calgary
After breakfast and checkout, a chauffeur will return you to the Calgary
International Airport.

NOTE

Field
Departing from the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion at 06:30am, your day begins with a hearty breakfast as the Royal Canadian Pacific travels west to the Rocky Mountains en route to Lake Louise. Once you reach historic Laggan Station at Lake Louise, you detrain for the day. Just like in the old days, our guides from the Chateau Lake Louise will meet us on the platform. These experienced guides will help you recapture history and share the spectacular beauty of one of the most captivating places on earth. Away from the crowds, you will venture to Mount Fairview and relive the experiences of the early adventurers as they explored the Canadian Alps with a guide, eh! Return to the golden age of exploration and gain valuable insight into the natural history and culture of the Canadian West. You will experience the excitement of reaching new and exhilarating heights. Discover stunning vistas and breath taking scenery as you journey in a small group to the top of the world. Once you reach your destination, feast on snacks and a gourmet lunch while you feast your eyes on the magnificent view. Seize the opportunity for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, usually only achieved by the most skilled mountain travelers. Late in the afternoon we will return to Laggan station to board the Royal Canadian Pacific and your journey continues through the famous Spiral Tunnels on the way to Field. Day 2
Calgary
7:00am departure from Field will provide early morning reverse viewing of the Spiral Tunnels during breakfast. A leisurely trip back to Calgary ends your rail journey, arriving at the Canadian Pacific Pavilion before noon.

Moonlight dining excursions feature "all-inclusive" Calgary to High River or Banff and return luxurious dinner train service. The tariff is $400 U.S. ($550 Cdn.) per person, plus 7% GST. Extend your trip to Field, B.C. to enjoy more of the mountains for an additional
$150 U.S. ($200 Cdn.). For groups with a minimum of 20 people to a maximum capacity of 36 people. The train departs the Canadian Pacific Railway Pavilion at 1800hrs and returns at approximately 2300hrs.We will offer this luxurious train service any night of the week or on the weekend.
